Tips for assembling the light box
Determine the correct location for the light box, taking into account the sliding in and out of the acrylic plate.
Check where the power supply comes from and where it enters the light box. Take into account the length of the cable for connecting to the terminal block.
When using a twilight switch, this location is already determined (at the power supply) but it can be determined by mutual agreement before the light box is built.
Determine where the fixing holes should be, taking into account the position of the light box on the substrate. Drill the holes through the white back wall and back chutes. For larger light boxes, the back chutes are an important part of the light box's supporting structure.
Small formats 80 and 120mm do not have back chimneys.
If possible, also determine and drill the grommet hole.
Copy the dimensions of the fixing holes on the wall.
Choose the right fasteners in combination with the substrate against which the light box will be mounted (stone, wood, sheet piling, etc.).
Check whether this surface can support the weight of the light box. Then the light box can be mounted.
For the drainage of the light box, 2 holes of at least 7 mm must be drilled in the bottom profile on the left and right.
For light boxes longer than 2 metres, drill several drainage holes.
After the light box has been mounted, run the cable through and connect to the LED power supply or have it connected by an electrician if necessary.
Clean the inside of the tray and test the electrics for proper operation.
Before sliding in the acrylic front panel, also clean the back.
Caution:
From 600mm height, the acrylic panels are fitted with hanging edges; a large hanging edge at the top and a small hanging edge at the bottom.
If there is too much wind, it is not wise to place the light box or slide the sheets in or out.
Depending on the size and weight of the light box, assemble it with at least two people.
