FAQ
How can I prevent bubbles?
Make sure the substrate is clean and grease-free. Does the adhesive layer lend itself to wet application of the film? Then wet both the surface and the adhesive layer and position the foil. Secure the film and slowly and evenly squeegee out the moisture under the sticker. If stickers cannot be stuck wet position the sticker at the top and work evenly downwards. Work carefully, it is difficult to reposition the sticker or iron out air bubbles on the surface when sticking dry.
Which file formats are best to submit?
For stickers where white ink is to be provided, PDF files are recommended. Avoid JPEG files if white ink is to be added. In these, white ink cannot be easily assigned. Questions about your file? Our team is at your service.
Will my design become transparent if I don't add white?
Yes, all white areas in your design will remain transparent if you don't add any deck white or white ink. Even light colours can be less visible and appear more transparent without cover white.
Isn't white ink included by default on transparent stickers?
No, white ink is not included by default on transparent stickers, even if you provide a JPG file with a white background. This is because printers do not see white as a presence of a colour.
If you want parts of your design to be white on a transparent sticker (e.g. text or a background under a logo), this must be indicated and processed in your file. This is done using a separate spot colour ‘white ink’. Should you need help with this, our team is at your service.
Without this white ink designation (also known as ‘deck white’), colours printed on a transparent background will appear translucent and faint, especially if the sticker is stuck on a coloured background or window. Dekwhite makes the colours appear bright and opaque.

Transparent stickers
- Transparent foil!
- With or without white!
- Standard or mirrored!
The advantage of transparent stickers is that it looks like the print has been cut out and pasted on the surface. In reality, printing is done on a crystal clear, transparent foil and cut around the print, so that the cutout is not too complex and the stickers can be easily pasted.
To make the colors opaque, we recommend that you print a layer of white ink under the full color print. This is not necessary if the colors may remain transparent. Please note that when the stickers are then stuck on a colored background, color differences may occur.
Finally, you can print in mirror image. Here first the full color print and then the white layer is printed. This makes it possible to stick the sticker inside, after which it can be read from the outside.
